Metal
There must be a recycling bin for
scrap metal when there are a minimum of five households within the
property. The community management will maintain recycling points for
other homes in different areas of the city. From the links listed below
can be found those recycling points in the areas according to the postal
code, where there is a recycling bin for scrap metal:
The following can also be placed
for recycling in the recycling bin for scrap metal:
 |
tin cans |
 |
small objects, dishes, lids and
tops made of metal |
 |
empty, dry paint pots
 |
NO aerosol cans |
 |
NO batteries |
 |
NO electric or electronic waste |
 |
NO tin that has been used to
cast New Year’s
charms |
|
TIP: Also clean aluminium foils
and metal casing of night-light and outdoor candles can be recycled with
scrap metal. The foils that have still food in them must be placed in
non-recyclable waste bins.
TIP 2: Take all of the drink cans,
including those you do not get your money back for, back to the shop’s
recycling machine. The aluminium from drink cans is easy to recycle when
it is already separated from other scrap metal. Returning all of the drink
cans to the recycling machine also saves space in the metal recycling
bins.
Large items of metal, like
bicycles, stoves, car parts, etc, can be taken to Mustankorkea or scrap
yard. Information about free scrap metal collection can be found on
Autokierrätys Oy’s internet pages.
Recycled metal will be used to
produce new metal items.
