Batteries
Batteries can not be recycled at
the moment. Collection bins have been placed at the recycling points, so
that the disposable and rechargeable batteries that are a part of toxic
waste could be efficiently collected for further treatment. From the links
listed below can be found those recycling points in the areas according to
the postal code, where there is a collection bin for the batteries:
Regardless of their labelling,
please, take all disposable and rechargeable batteries to the collection
bin at the recycling point and if they can not fit in the bin, take them
to the recycling point for toxic waste.
Household appliances, like
electric toothbrush, shaver and mobile phones often has a rechargeable
battery inside them that is considered toxic waste.
The following must not be placed in the
collection bin for batteries:
- Light bulbs and fuses -> non-recyclable
waste bin,
- Fluorescent tubes and energy efficient light
bulbs -> recycling point for toxic waste,
- Thermometers with quicksilver -> the
pharmacy.
