Stafix Ltd, which is based in Jyväskylä, won a national graphic industry innovation award in autumn 2008. Stafix film - developed by the company - received the award in the innovative technology category, which focuses on exceptional technical solutions or materials used in the manufacture of printed products.
Stafix is a printable, statically charged polypropylene film that adheres to any clean, dry surface without adhesives or chemicals. Using Stafix, any space can be quickly transformed into a new type of advertising environment.
"For example, the film is easy to attach and remove, making it ideal for use in temporary indoor advertising. Printing houses and advertising agencies, especially in Europe, have realized the potential for the film", says Stafix's Managing Director José Ayala.
The jury - in which publishers, major customers, research and educational institutions and industry associations are all represented - stated that the innovative film can help to create new business opportunities, and completely new applications may be developed for the material. The range of applications for the film is almost unlimited. The most popular uses have included point-of-sale advertising, magazine inserts and direct marketing.
Stafix Ltd was established in 2007 and is already an international company. It mainly exports to the European markets, especially Germany and France.
