Jyväskylä Human Technology City

IN BRIEF: New programme promotes growth and international development in Jyväskylä Region

Business in Jyväskylä is a three-year programme launched to reinforce the Jyväskylä Region’s position as an internationally attractive centre for technology and business. By 2011 the programme aims to initiate investments totalling EUR 100 million in a new-generation technology complex and business parks. It is estimated that these investments will help to create over 1 000 new jobs.

Business in Jyväskylä is being implemented by Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd, Jykes Kiinteistöt Oy, Jyväskylä Innovation Oy and Technopolis Oyj.

The objective of the programme is to locate international high-tech business centres in the Jyväskylä Region. These centres will include the operations of one or more Finnish or foreign universities, commercial activities of companies from different countries, as well as set-up and transit services for international businesses.
