Nowadays, the town hall houses the city of Jyväskylä’s Säynätsalo district office, which deals with issues such as rented council homes and social services, and is in charge of the use of the public spaces within the building. Local government is now handled by the ‘Suburb Committee’, which meets in the council chamber. During the renovations, the apartments that were earlier converted into offices were returned to their original use. The two-room flat on the courtyard side was converted into a guest apartment.
