On entering Säynätsalo Town Hall, the visitor first comes to a small waiting area furnished with an arrangement of seating with, behind it, the official notice board of the municipality. Glass and wood alternate asymmetrically in this collage-like composition, with the light switches concealed behind a wooden flap. The foyer opens in several directions. The mosaic tile corridor leads to the spaces encircling the inner courtyard, the council offices and the cloakroom. The brick-paved floor leads to the steps up to the council chamber.
