The village opens in the spring as the snow melts, revealing the amazing homes and hideaways of the fairy tale figures who live there. In the village streets it's all activities and happenings, all summer. Watch a play or listen to a concert and remember, each and every junior visitor can influence the way in which the story of the day develops.

Outdoor park- from spring to autumn
Peukkula's bends and curves conceal an adventure park.Crazy Curve is a place for pedal cars and no holding back. The park also features domestic animals and a variety of toysand games, including really peculiar stilts.

Indoor park - all year round
The fairy tale trail takes visitors on an enchanting journey into the world of fictional characters. The rooms have been created with a lot of heart, while the details encourage kids to touch and experience for themselves. The obstacle course provides more than enough challenge for skilled climbers and wigglers, while tables are on hand for children to relax with a book or doing some drawing. There's also a cinema for watching visiting performers, kids' own star turns as well as movies.

Fascinating experiences all year round
It can't be explained - you simply have to try it for yourself! The world's only planetarium located deep in rock is a tremendous experience for people of all ages! The rock planetarium is a tourist destination with a difference, and a memorable location for a meeting or special occasion. In the planetarium's cupola visitors can enjoy a range of 360° shows - everything from animations to exciting super-films and performances of music! The café, restaurant (advance booking), meeting facilities, rock saunas and an open-air Lappish teepee area make this a unique destination. In summer, the rock planetarium presents a children's summer of adventure.

Down in the darkness of the museum's lower floor lives our very own sheep, Päkä, who dreams of having red mittens. But where does woollen yarn grow? Find out by following Päkä's footprints and the audio guide. Päkä will also take you to Aistitila, where items can be touched, smelled and even tasted. In the Paja workshop on the second floor of the museum visitors can experience craft in hands-on fashion. Paja is open Tue-Sun 11-18. Small charge for materials. Free admission at all times for under 18s. On Fridays admission to the museum is free for all, at other times the charge for adults is 6 €.

Located just on the edge of the city centre, Mäki-Matti is big on happenings, fun and activities all through the year. The park features a variety of playground equipment, a stage with spectator seating, a field for ball games, a barbecue grill, park benches and grassy areas for young and old alike. Naissaari is an enclave of beautiful wooden houses situated on a small island surrounded by rapids. Attractions include a tourist information point, café, the Vaajakoski lock on the Keitele-Päijänne canal, summer exhibitions in the Wanha Woimala (Old Power Station), theatre and other events in summer as well as a beach for swimming. A signposted historical path circles the island, the Kanavuori nature trail lies nearby.

A meeting place for families with small kids right in the middle of the city. The playground cabin is equipped with a microwave oven, WC, toys and other equipment for use in the park. A great favourite with small kids – the thrill of pedal cars and cycles in an authentic, miniature traffic setting! Budding drivers have a free practice circuit at their disposal, complete with traffic lights and biogas filling station, all summer long.

An amusement park suitable for the whole family set in pleasant, garden-like surroundings. The park also contains lots of nice rides and things to do for very young fun-lovers. In the circus world hall visitors have the chance to play old amusement machines for free all day long with a single ride ticket or wristband. Located on highway 9, next to Laukaanhovi, 20 km from Jyväskylä. Plenty of free parking close by for vehicles of all sizes. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic and enjoy it in the park.

Welcome to the magical world of dance, song and play! Hilarius Mouse's exciting children's musical with great whole-family appeal is staged every day in the village. In addition to Hilarius the performance also features other well-known TV characters such as Hippu Hiiri, Loru-Liisa, Lauri and Mrs. Koipeliini. The daily programme also includes singing, fun exercises and plenty of time to burn off energy on the play equipment out in the yard. At the lemonade factory there's a chance to mix your own pop while Hilarius Mouse souvenir products are on sale at the shop. The village is located in the grounds of Spa Hotel Peurunka. The new theme spa complete with water slides, a restaurant and beach for swimming are located right next door. With the full-day wristband you can return to the village after a refreshing dip. Remember to bring your swimming equipment with you! In wintertime Hilarius Mouse puts in an appearance at Peurunka during the school holidays. Please request details of our holiday packages.
